Since the last time I've written I have learned many new things about Microsoft Excel. I am now much better with formulas and using the fill handle. I learned about how to format the date. I am also better with formating relative cells so that new cells are similar. I also leanred how to compute sales tax in excel.
I also learned about a website called www.google.com/goog411 it is like a new 411 service that will connect you to different buisnesses. this seems useful except I don't think I will be using it.

What's been going on

Lately in class we have been focusing on Microsoft Excel. I have learned how to create charts faster and easier then before. I have also learned more about formulas in excel. I also came across a website www.geni.com its a website where you can create your very own family tree! Another site is www.polldaddy.com which is a site used to create polls and surveys for your websites and blogs.

excel and mozy

I have only used excel a few times so I wasn't sure exactly how to do everything. I know we can use math in it, but I wasn't sure exactly how to. I also went on a new site www.mozy.com it is a site where you can back-up your data in case of a computer crash ect...I thought this was very useful.
I wish it was nicer outside....

Today I went on a site where you can watch any television show whenever you want to. It's on the website hulu.com i enjoyed being able to watch family guy.
Recently I have also learned more about the powerpoint program. I had never used the speaker notes option before or even seen it before for that matter.

New Websites

I have recently viewed two new websites, one is http://drop.io/ and the other is http://twitter.com/. They are useful for people to use to comunicate with others around the globe.

Things I have learned about Word

Since my last entry I have learned a few new things. I learned about using the tab key to space things out. The space bar is not an acceptable tool to use to do that, I guess. I also learned about making tables and how to shape them to the way I want them. I never knew I could just double-click in between cells to make them fit text correctly. I can also make tables print without borders. I think I am a table expert now. I also tried a new site called www.chacah.com. It is a site where you can text a question to them and they send back answers to help you out. This is very useful for on the run questions.

Cloud Computing

Today in class I learned about two different sites that can help me if I have internet access. At www.tadalist.com
I can
make an organized list that I can access from anywhere. This way I cannot lose it on my computer and I can see if without having to save it on a flash drive or CD. I personally would probably not use it, but it's nice to know that I can. The site that I found to be very interesting was http://docs.google.com. It made it so you can use word and excel without using the ones on your computer. Or maybe use it if you don't have those programs. I can write all of this online and then download it to my computer as a word file. This is a useful tool and I am glad that I know about it.

I also learned about new things in word recently. I learned how to post blogs using word. I also learned how to use the format painter. I knew some things before, but the new shortcuts I learned are definitely going to come in handy. I also thought that creating paragraphs for you option was interesting. I had never seen that before.
